The Parent and Grandparent Super Visa program allows parents and grandparents to come and stay in Canada for up to 2 years in their first visit without having to renew their status.
The visa has a validity of 10 years allowing re-entry during this period, but does not provide work rights.
Who can apply?
Parents and/or grandparents of Canadian citizens and permanent residence are eligible to apply provided they are admissible to Canada. However, dependents cannot be included in this application as this super visa only applies to parents and grandparents along with their spouses.
TRV and TRV-Exempt Country Applicants
This Super Visa is a great option for those residing in countries that require a temporary resident visa because the Super Visa allows them to travel between their home country and Canada without having to worry about re-applying for a TRV. Check the table on the TRV page to find out if you require a TRV to visit Canada.
