This program is designed for skilled workers who wish to become permanent residents and economically established in the province of Quebec. As Quebec has its own system, applicants are assessed differently than the Federal Skilled Worker Program.
Interested applicants (anyone 18 years of age and older) must create an Expression of Interest within 90 days of creating a profile on Quebec’s Arrima portal. This profile is assessed on areas such as, education, training, language proficiency, work experience, and more.
Expression of Interest remains valid for 90 days during which time they are able to update their information as needed. For instance, if they re-take their language test and achieve a higher score, this can be updated on their profile.
Candidates who are invited must apply for the Quebec Selection Certificate, (Certificat de sélection du Québec [CSQ]). The CSQ is a document that declares the holder as having been selected to settle in Quebec. In order to qualify for the CSQ, the applicant must get a score of at least 50 points (if applicant is unmarried) based on Quebec’s selection grid. Applicants with a spouse or common-law-partner must get at least 59 points.
