We know for the past few months this has been a major hurdle for many immigrants looking to come to Canada and gain permanent resident status. Well here’s some good news!
Now that many countries have lifted their coronavirus restrictions, IELTS and CELPIP testing centres have significantly increased their operations. This means there are now many more dates to choose from to take your test.
The Canadian government is now accepting either the IELTS General Training or CELPIP from all foreign nationals applying under the Federal Express Entry System or the Provincial Nominee Programs (PNP).

Where Can I Take The IELTS Test?
There are 72 countries from which individuals can take the test.
International students, foreign workers, and other temporary residents and visitors currently residing in Canada can now book their IELTS test across the provinces immediately.
CELPIP Testing Centres
CELPIP on the other hand is available in 6 countries. Individuals can take this test in:
- Canada (British Columbia, Alberta, Manitoba, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, and Yukon)
- United States (Texas, California, Virginia)
- China (Hong Kong)
- Philippines (Manila)
- United Arab Emirates (Dubai)
- India (Chandigarh)
Keep an eye out for dates in areas, such as Ontario, Quebec, New York, and New Delhi as they have been tentatively set for the next few weeks ahead.
Next Steps?
As this has been the biggest setback for many foreign nationals, it is greatly advised that they take this test as soon as possible in order to complete the application process.
